On August 30, 2026, IGF had the opportunity to sponsor and participate in a seminar organized by PKR PrOmics (Center for Precision Oncology Research Collaboration Based on Omics) titled “Cancer Metabolism & Microbiome: Uncovering Metabolic Patterns and Microbiomic Profile for Precision Oncology.”
Held at LPPT UGM, the seminar served as a forum to bring together researchers, academics, practitioners, and clinicians to discuss developments and challenges in omics-based cancer research for the advancement of precision oncology in Indonesia.
PKR PrOmics is a multi-institutional research collaboration led by BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) in partnership with Gadjah Mada University (UGM), University of Indonesia (UI), and Rumah Sakit Kanker Dharmais, focused on advancing cancer research and precision medicine in Indonesia.
IGF Interactive Booth
Presented through an interactive booth, IGF introduced the sequencing technology capabilities it offers (ranging from PromethION P24 to PacBio Revio), and how genomic data can be leveraged to support cancer research — from identifying genetic variations and understanding disease molecular mechanisms, to generating insights that support the development of more precise research approaches in addressing the challenges of cancer in Indonesia.

Building Strong Collaborations
More than just introducing technology, IGF’s participation and support at this seminar represent an active effort to promote more inclusive and affordable omics-based cancer research in Indonesia. The collaboration with PKR PrOmics is also part of IGF’s commitment as a provider of accessible sequencing services that support the medical sector through research and clinical trials.
This event provides an opportunity to discuss, exchange perspectives, and build collaborations with various stakeholders interested in the advancement of cancer research. It is hoped that this seminar will foster strong collaborations between IGF and researchers — particularly in the clinical field — to address the challenges of cancer in Indonesia through an omics-based approach and precision oncology.
PrimeStep Grant 2026 Commitment
Support for this seminar is part of IGF’s commitment under the PrimeStep Grant 2026 to support research and innovation in Indonesia, particularly in the medical sector, as a manifestation of Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
